A Dream Come True

How cool would it be to become a published author and have your written work displayed in a real, live, brick and mortar store? Well, I can now answer that question. It's pretty freakin' amazing!! Never in a million years did I ever think that would happen. Gosh... how many times have I wandered through bookstores in town, or in airports, and thought "Wow. How cool would it be to one day see a book I wrote sitting there on one of the shelves?" And then on Thursday 27 April, that incredible dream came true. My sincerest thanks and appreciation goes out to the store that made that a reality.

Audreys Books is Edmonton's oldest independent bookstore, located downtown in the historic MacLean block, in a beautiful corner, brick and mortar storefront.

It was an absolute pleasure to converse with Levi, the gentlemen who ultimately agreed to bring in my book. And when I brought in my initial 6 copies after work on Thursday, it never even occurred to me that seconds later my book would be ready for purchase and I'd be able to see my book on the shelf. I guess I figured it would be more of a process!

So, if you're ever downtown, and happen to wander past this amazing indie store, PLEASE check out the local authors non-fiction section where you can find "A Day Behind and A World Away" - which boasts the work of not only a local author, but a local editor (Stephen Goss - whose book "The Other Side of Morning" is also in the local authors section), and a local graphic designer (Randy Sneep) who gets all the credit for the beautiful cover art. #SupportLocal
